Cyclocross Has Begun!

Cyclocross season has indeed begun. My season started at Cross Reno back on 9/19.  This course is going to be used for the national championships in January 2018, so this race was a preview of sorts.

We raced in decidedly unJanuary conditions however, with the temps reaching up into the mid 80s.

This hill just killed me. I had been dealing with a tight achilles so I had not done any running at all in training.

Immediately after the run up was this tricky off camber.

The barriers went pretty well though.

My buddy Chris made it up for the race too.

Late race pain face!

Chris and I dirty and happy after the race and a beer.

Next up was Autumn Cross 9/27 at Verdugo Park in Glendale. What a fun and pretty course!

The race went well for me, nabbing 5th out of 49 finishers.

Might need to pack a clean Aerohead jersey for these podium pics!

Good times.
Cross is fun.
