Wow!
It's been a few months since I have updated this.
Cyclocross season is upon us and I've been racing every weekend now for a month.
Last weekend Nemo, Nick and I went down to Irvine for Spooky Cross, racing both Saturday and Sunday in tough, competitive fields.
Here am I running up the stair section.
Nick puts his cross country running skills to use in the big sand pit.
Nick flies over the flyover.
and tackles the steep stair runup.
Nemo gets a good start in the non-UCI A race. Yes that is a pink tutu.
Nick rails the tricky off camber turn.
Nick hangs with his competitors Sunday morning.
Another good start for Nemo Sunday morning.
Nemo hits the barriers and runs the sand pit with aplomb.
Suffering and smiling!
Nick battled to a 5th place Saturday and 2nd place Sunday, while Nemo pulled down two 5th place finishes. I decided to race up in the 45+ A category and managed a 17th and a 13th in fields of 17 and 14.
On October 9th we held our second Owens Valley Cyclocross.
Here I am racing beneath the peaks.
Nemo pedals beneath stately cottonwoods.
Nick out of the saddle with Mt Tom behind.
Andy and Kathleen prepare to hurdle the barriers.
October 1st found Mary and I in Spokane for my niece's wedding, so I squeezed in a 'cross race before the ceremony & reception.

Fun racing in the forest.
Nasty runup.
I battled this guy for sixth, pulling away from him on the last lap.
My buddy Steve lives nearby in Moscow, so we had the good fortune of being able to hang out with him and his family and go to the races with him.

So much more to come too.
Stay tuned.

Fun times again! Good to have you blogging again!
Awesome! I love the picture of you under the peaks. Unfortunately we don't have such stunning back drops; sounds like we need a road trip to check out your CX scene!
