Kuna Lake

Mary has been diligent in procuring permits into Yosemite allowing us to enjoy the Tuolumne high country.

We decided on hiking up the Parker Pass trail, then veering off cross country to Kuna Lake nestled up high in the Kuna Crest.

The trail passes an old mining cabin likely well over 100 years old.

Once we left the trail we enjoyed good cross country hiking up and out of the forested valley. Mary takes a break with Mt Gibbs rising across the canyon.

Once into the higher terrain the creek flowing from Kuna Lake forms wonderful meadows.
The splendid Peak 12170 soon came into view.
Kuna Lake. Just magnificent! We took a quick dip. Ate our lunch and soaked in the scenery.
Mammoth Peak on our way down.
Meadow, pond, and Mt Dana
A parting shot of Mammoth Peak near the end of our outing.
We saw no one all day until the last fifteen minutes near the trailhead. It would be hard to imagine a more delightful outing!
