After a little rest we headed out for a relaxing evening stroll near the House of Parliment.
First we visited Westminster Abbey. This is the front.

And here is the side entrance.

Maybe the service entrance?

The detail work was amazing.

This is the Parliment tower with the side of Westminster Abbey in the foreground.

Big Ben was looking quite handsome in the evening light.

This little monument next to the Thames commemorated the emancipation of the slaves in England - significantly earlier than we did here in the States.

We crossed the Thames and enjoyed the nice views across the river.

Alas, our trip had come to an end!
With a mixture of exhaustion, fulfillment, and relief we headed home early the next morning.
