Petrified Forest National Park

Next stop on the road trip was a visit to Petrified Forest National Park in Arizona.

Logs!

The agatized wood is remarkably beautiful.

A petrified knot.

Wood rounds scattered over the purple shale landscape.

The shale hills have their own austere beauty.

There's more than petrified wood at Petrified Wood National Park. Newspaper Rock is an incredible petroglyph panel.

Lastly we admired the views of the Painted Desert from the numerous viewpoints at the north end of the park.

Camp at OK RV Park in Holbrook. Pleasant and quiet.

A nice full day of sightseeing!
