Big Smokey Valley

The next day Mary and I elected to get up early to beat the heat of the day and visit Spencer Hot Springs in the north end of Big Smokey Valley.

This is one of the most primitive tubs. There are maybe six or seven total. Some are nice and hot and well kept. There is also at least one cool pool.

After a pleasant soak we went for a spin on the mountain bikes.

Real mellow riding.

We also visited the Hickison Petroglyphs.

Besides the nice petroglyphs the rock formations are beautiful and there are good views of the valley.

After the drive I went for a stroll from camp to check out the nearby Victorine Mine.

Classic miner's shack.

Found this colorful rock. Copper minerals I believe.

The Swallowtails loved the Thistle up there!

Fun day!
