This morning I rolled out fairly early to go ski the southeast chute of Mt Aggie from the McGee Creek trailhead.
I thought it might be thin, but not this thin! For a few moments I questioned the plan, but I ended up hiking up the right chute here.
I'm glad I persevered. Coverage was decent higher in the drainage. The scenery was cool too.
I started out thinking an 11:00 descent would be fine, but by 10:15 I was postholing frequently and the surface snow seemed pretty soft. I was really hoping to top out, but it was time to descend.
Glad I did. The skiing was quite good.
The exit was interesting. Rode these narrow snow tongues most of the way to the summer trail with a few spots requiring ski removal.
The heat is on!
